Albert Hall is the oldest museum in Rajasthan, opened in 1887 in a flamboyant Indo-Saracenic building in the Ram Niwas Garden, just south of the old city. Its galleries hold Rajasthani miniatures, carpets, an Egyptian mummy and a celebrated collection of local crafts, and the floodlit building is especially photogenic after dark. The Pink Line does not reach it: the nearest stations are Chhoti Chaupar (about 1.4 km) and Badi Chaupar (about 1.5 km), inside the walled city, from where it is a short auto-rickshaw ride or a 20-minute walk south through New Gate or Sanganeri Gate.
