Overview

Albert Hall is the oldest museum in Rajasthan, opened in 1887 in a flamboyant Indo-Saracenic building in the Ram Niwas Garden, just south of the old city. Its galleries hold Rajasthani miniatures, carpets, an Egyptian mummy and a celebrated collection of local crafts, and the floodlit building is especially photogenic after dark. The Pink Line does not reach it: the nearest station is Chandpole, on the edge of the walled city, from where it is a short auto-rickshaw ride south.
