Overview
Jantar Mantar is the largest of the five stone astronomical observatories built by Sawai Jai Singh II, completed in 1734 and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Its nineteen instruments include the Samrat Yantra — the world’s largest stone sundial at 27 metres, still accurate to about two seconds. It sits beside the City Palace, roughly a 7-minute walk from Badi Chaupar.
